NBA Women Forum Kaduna Pays Courtesy Visit to Chief Judge of Kaduna State

On April 3, 2025, the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF), Kaduna State Chapter, led by the State Lead, Mrs. Anne Tinuade Usman-Ibinola, Esq., paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Honourable Justice Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu, at the State High Court Complex.
The visit, which included facilitators from the Zaria and Barnawa branches and other members of the Forum, was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Judiciary and the Forum, while advocating for greater inclusion and support for female lawyers in the state.
Mrs. Usman-Ibinola expressed the Forum's gratitude for the Honourable Chief Judge's exemplary leadership, particularly his role in the appointment and elevation of more female judges in Kaduna State.
She also lauded his continuous support for women in the legal profession and requested his lordship’s approval for the use of judiciary spaces for Forum-related programs, as well as ongoing mentorship opportunities for women in the legal field.
In response, Justice Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu expressed delight over the visit and praised the NBA for establishing the Women Forum. He acknowledged the unique role women play in the justice sector, emphasizing that their integrity and commitment could help restore trust and excellence within the judiciary.
The Honourable Chief Judge further addressed the ongoing challenge of financial independence in the judiciary, while expressing optimism that, with the cooperation of the Executive, solutions would emerge.
He also encouraged the Forum to continue thinking innovatively and pledged his unwavering support, assuring that his doors remain open to the Forum at all times.
The visit was a remarkable step toward fostering collaboration and promoting gender balance within the legal system in Kaduna State.
