In commemoration of this year’s international Women’s Day (IWD), globally marked on March 8th, the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (“NBAWF”) is calling on women globally, particularly female lawyers to actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden their perceptions and be deliberate about having a seat at the table.
This call is conveyed in the theme of its annual IWD Virtual Conference themed, “Pathway to Diversity: Challenging Blindspots and Powering up for inclusion” scheduled to hold on Wednesday March 24th 2021. This would be followed by a special training for young female lawyers organised by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Network Nigeria in collaboration with the NBAWF on Thursday March 25th 2021.
The conference will feature a distinguished panel of speakers, interactive panel sessions, virtual rooms, online networking opportunities and topics touching on wage gap/equal pay/ remuneration, gender parity and gender balance in law firms and other private and public sector organisations, work-life balance and women’s health, path to partnership among other critical conversations on gender equality.
